Welcome to Our School

Welcome to our La Petite Academy educational daycare in Summerville, SC! My name is Cindy Kunkel and I have been with La Petite since 1996. I love working with children and enjoy building relationships with each family. I can't imagine spending my days doing anything else.

Watching the children learn and grow in our Infant Care and Preschool programs has been very rewarding for me. It is an amazing feeling to hear about the successes of children who have gone through our early education programs.

When a family joins La Petite Academy here in Summerville, they join our family. My staff and I are committed to the highest standards in care and education. We have an experienced staff with over 100 years of combined service to our children.

Certifications: Certificate in Applied Science-ECD, Level 2 Director Certificate, Level 2 Preschool Certificate, Level 2 Special Needs Certificate, CPR/First Aid

I have been with La Petite Academy since 1996. Sharing my day with children is incredible. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 1979 and we have two grown children. I have two sweet little grandchildren that fill my heart with so much joy. My hobbies include painting and gardening. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to our beautiful center!

Certifications: South Carolina Preservice Certificate, CPR and First Aid

Every day is busy and full of adventure. My husband Doug and I have three sweet boys. Family time is important to me and I am a huge animal lover. The safety and well being of our children at La Petite is most important to me. I have worked here for 17 years and I love watching them grow from infants all the way to graduating Pre-K.
