Our nationally recognized, research-based curricula provides a strong foundation as your child progresses to first grade the following school year. Language Arts

Math

We understand the importance of knowing what your child has already learned and what they are ready to learn next. Students will participate in five different modes of learning: whole group instruction, collaborative learning, small group instruction, adaptive learning, and independent practice. Students have the opportunity to apply mathematical thinking to real-life situations and are supported in developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Social Studies

Students will have the opportunity to share personal experiences, family stories, and traditions. They will also focus on developing skills such as gaining an understanding of the world they live in, understanding time and place, and showing respect for others.

Science

Throughout the year, students gain skills in areas such as understanding the scientific method; observing local weather conditions; describing patterns over time; discovering animals, plants, and the environment; and investigating the effect of strengths and directions of pushes and pulls.

Self-Help & Social Skills

Support with self-help and social skills are critical to a child’s development in kindergarten. Some of the essential skills your child will develop include holding a pencil with a proper grip; using scissors to cut pre-formed shapes; following directions; working independently; asking for help when needed; recognizing and following classroom routines and procedures; independently attending to personal care; understanding another’s point of view; showing conflict resolution skills; and respecting the rights of others.
