Welcome to Our School

My name is Tamara Trujillo and I am the director at this La Petite Academy educational daycare and preschool of Castle Rock, CO. I love all the children and families that come through our front door. I know every child by name and always have an open heart and listening ear for everyone in the family. You will find me frequently talking with families and sharing stickers with children from my infamous sticker drawer.
Our school offers an engaging, nurturing environment for every child during their most critical early years. We offer programs for infants, toddlers, early-preschool, preschool, and pre-kindergarten, and UPK. We provide meaningful experiences to challenge children and give them a well-rounded education. This includes offering Spanish lessons to our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classes. We also make sure to include school-wide fun activities, such as dress-up or themed days, bringing a favorite book to share, parent breakfast days, and so much more!
Many of our staff members have been here for years and regularly participate in early education trainings. Together, we have over 106 years of early-childcare education experience! Several teachers are CDA certified, and others are working on obtaining theirs.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Sociology
Certifications: Child Development Associate Credential, First Aid/CPR, Director Qualified
My favorite thing about working in child care is all the families I meet. My goal as the Director is to provide a loving, educational environment that meets the needs of our children and families. I have 38 years of experience working in child care. I have worked for La Petite Academy for seven years. I've been at this location since March of 2023. I pride myself on my Rockstar staff, and the families that make this center absolutely amazing.

My favorite thing about working in child care is working with children and witnessing their genuineness. My favorite part of the day is when any child runs up and gives me a hug. I have three years of child care experience. I was the lead pre-K teacher before taking on the assistant director position. I am finishing up my CDA certification and currently director certified.

My favorite thing about working in child care is seeing the smiling faces of all the children as they have fun and learn every day. I have over two years of experience in child care, over eight years of experience in management, and have taken several ECE courses. I am Lead Teacher qualified and often step in to classrooms to assist throughout the day. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, writing, and playing my violin.
