Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy in Columbia, MD! My name is Joanne and I am the Academy Director. I have my bachelor’s degree in elementary education, and I love seeing the children learn and discover the world around them.

We proudly service families in Baltimore, D.C., and many other surrounding cities. We provide School-Age transportation to and from local elementary schools (Waterloo, Bellow Springs, Thunder Hill, and Phelps Luck) and offer an innovative before-and-after-care program. We also offer GrowFit, a nutrition program designed to promote healthy eating habits and healthy minds from a young age.

We love seeing our children progress through our school readiness pathway – starting as Infants and graduating from our Pre-K/Junior K program! It is our goal to feed inquisitive minds and create lifelong learners!

Great experience! My daughter has been attending this school for about 6 months now, and we absolutely love it. All the teachers are caring and friendly, she is happy and she learns a lot every day. We also get a lot of pictures and updates throughout the day via our phone app which is really nice and helpful.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education

Certifications: CPR/First Aid, ADA, Medication Administration, Emergency Preparedness

I have been in the early childhood field for over 12 years. I love being able to be a part of every family's day. I look forward to helping families in any way that I can! I enjoy going hiking and spending time with my daughter, family, and friends.

Education: Associates in Business and Early Childhood Education

Certifications: CPR/First Aid, ADA, Medication Administration, Emergency Preparedness

I have been an educator for 10+ years. I started as a teacher's assistant when I graduated from high school. Throughout my career, I have worked with all ages and stages of children. My favorite part of teaching is getting to see the children develop and being able to create a bond with all of the families. There is never a dull moment when working with children because they are all unique.
