Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy daycare and preschool in Glen Carbon, IL where we provide education-based care with extended hours for the working family! My name is Carrie and I am the academy director. I have been working in early childhood education as a teacher and manager for over five years. I have my master's degree in social work from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with a focus on child and family practice.

Our school offers Infant and Toddler Care, Private Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and have also been awarded a Gold Circle of Quality from ExceleRate Illinois.

We have an outstanding and diverse faculty here in Glen Carbon. Our lead teachers have education-related degrees and our assistant teachers are pursuing education degrees or have multiple years of early childhood experience. Ongoing annual training is provided for all team members and our entire staff has pediatric, child and adult CPR/First Aid certifications.

Education: Master's Degree in Social Work

I always knew that I wanted to work with children. While receiving my education, I found that my passion was in providing education to all children as early as possible. I love meeting and talking with all of my families and strive to create a community among the staff and family within our school.

Caitlin Jacobs, Assistant Director

Education: Continuing education in Early Childhood Development, currently 22 credit hours in ECE

Certifications: First Aid/CPR, Food Protection Manager

I have been working in early childhood education for 5 years, and 3 of them have been with La Petite Academy. I am currently pursuing my associates in Early Childhood Education. While working at La Petite Academy, I have been in several different classrooms and have experienced the rearward of being able to teach and connect with so many children and families. This opportunity has blessed me in so many aspects of life and I am so grateful you have trusted me with your children.
