Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy in Lexington, KY. My name is Rachel Cosby and I am the academy director. I currently have two kids in our program and love having the ability to see them learn and grow every day in our amazing facility. We offer Infant care beginning at six weeks of age, as well as a full or part-time Preschool program focusing on Kindergarten readiness and a School-Age program for before- and after-school care and full time care during school breaks for children up to 12 years of age.

We are 4-star rated through the Kentucky All Stars program. Our committed team of educators fosters children's growth, development and a lifelong love of learning!

Rachel Cosby, Director

Education: Associate's Degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education

Certifications: Kentucky Directors Credential, CPR/First Aid, Food Managers

Working with children has always been my passion. After teaching head start for two years, I decided to change directions and focus on helping and supporting teachers by providing them with the materials and resources they need to help children reach their potentials.

Christie Battaglia, Assistant Director

Education: Child Development Associate Degree

Certifications: CPR/First Aid, Kentucky Director's Credential, Food Managers Certification

Coming from 20+ years of early childhood experience, I found my home at La Petite. In my time here, I have been the infant teacher, safety captain, master teacher, and now assistant director. I enjoy working with the teachers and families to help build our program and exceed in providing quality care.

Education: Child Development Associates Degree

Certifications: CPR and First Aid, Food Manager Certification, LCG Master teacher

I have been with La Petite Academy since 2003. During my time here I have worked in all age groups, but I find preschool the most rewarding. I enjoy using the curriculum and then implementing it to see the results and how much the children grow and develop.

Stella Hagans, Team Lead

Certifications: First aid/CPR

I am from a large family of 15. Being the middle child I learned a lot about what it takes to be support for others. Even more so, I have a desire to do so. I've been teaching children for 20 + years and have two of my own. Because of my two, my commitment and passion grew even stronger to continue my education in the field and support others. Being a part of an institution that is creative, inspirational, and geared towards thriving in the development of children is what I love most about LPA.
